SF City earned their first point of the 2018 league season with a hard-fought scoreless draw at the Orange County U-23s. Said head coach Paddy Coyne, “The first half was pretty even with chances at both ends. In the second half, we dominated possession and increased the pressure in all areas. We hit the post twice and we walked away thinking it should have been a win. The energy is good; we stopped the bleeding.”
The Iron and Gold, still seeking their first PDL goal this year, will try to earn more vital road points at the San Diego Zest on Sunday.
Another weekend, another big match down south! This time, the Iron and Gold take on an Orange County team that finished at the wrong end of the 2017 divisional standings. City took this fixture 2-0 last year and will seek another strong result in Irvine.
